Members and staunch supporters of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) across the nooks and crannies of Ogbomoso axis of Oyo State thronged the North Local Government of the city as the native-born Philanthropist and politician, Hon. Akinwale Akinwole popularly known as ‘Wolekanle’ officially decamped to the state’s ruling party(PDP) while thousands of his supporters followed suit with immediate effect.
Wolekanle’s defection to PDP has today, Friday, 14th August confirmed and received by the party’s bigwigs, members and supporters at his North Local Government
of Ogbomoso.
Earlier, he had visited the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Edward Ogundoyin after he declared his intention to associate with the good works of the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde which he reaffirmed today.
He said; “In APC where I was before they tried their best but their best is not enough. I am glad I am in PDP and I believe that with my contributions and support of other people the party will have overwhelming support and record landslide victory in the subsequent election”.
Wolekanle was welcomed by the Ward Chairman, Hon Tunde Martins Iyanda, who appreciated his coming, affirming his presence in their midst will add value to the party both at local state and National Levels.
Wolekanle received his membership card and an umbrella, which serves as the symbol of the new party.
He appreciated his former party, APC; says they have done the little they could, but PDP is doing better.
