The Lawmaker representing Ibadan South East1, Hon. Rasaq Ademola Abdulahi Omosheu has rejoiced with Muslim faithful in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria in general on the occasion of this year’s Eid – EL – Kabir.
Omosheu felicitated with muslims in a release he personally signed and made available to naijatodaynews.com.
Omosheu used the occasion to enjoin Muslims to pray for peace, unity and progress of our country.
He charged all and sundry to be moderate in their activities during the festivities by adhering strictly to the precautionary measures against the spread of the dreaded coronavirus disease.
According to the parliamentarian, “those in charge of Eid, worship places and event centers should try as much as possible to provide alcohol based hand sanitizers, buckets with running taps, soaps and other preventive materials, while the citizenry should maintain frequent hand washing, use face masks, maintain social distance and if possible stay at home”.
He equally enjoined the people to seize the opportunity offered by the festive period to join hands together and fight the prevailing incidents of rape, Child Abuse, kidnapping and other social vices.
He further felicitated the religious, political and community leaders, as well as the traditional rulers in Ibadan South East1 in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole: with a prayer that the spirit behind Eid – El – Kabir would uphold our leaders to lift the country to higher levels.
He wished the people many happy returns of ‘Ileya’ festival and lauded the Oyo State Government under Engineer Abiodun Oluseyi Makinde for maintaining relative peace and spreading the dividend of democracy across the nooks and crannies of the state.
