The Caretaker Chairman, Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Alh.(Hon.) Saliman Afolabi Borikansunwon has rendered financial assistance to the constituent, Benjamin Oluwaseun Adedokun who had secured admission to Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, Kaduna State.
The financial assistance equivalent to Four Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira(#450,000.00) that comes in form of cheque was presented to the aspired pilot, Oluwaseun who hails from Sobaloju Quarters, Isia, Okeho.
While presenting the cheque, the Council Chairman, Borikansunwon disclosed that the financial assistance was in line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s resolve, determination and readiness to promote and contribute immensely to the progress and development of education in the pacesetter state.
Adding that the financial assistance was also sequel to Makinde’s approval and affirmation to ensure that education is given the needed attention across the nooks and crannies of the state.
In his admonition, Borikansunwon lavished encomiums on the student for his uncommon courage and bravery to choose the unique discipline among the available ones.
He admonished the student as he remains the primus inter pares to choose the discipline in the communities, to be the good ambassador of his community, focused, determined and courageous in order to excel ultimately.
The Director of Administration and General Services to Local Government, Mr Adedokun enjoined the aspired pilot to avoid cheating colleagues while in school and after completion of academic programmes, adding that Benjamin had chosen a seriously minded profession which gives no room for truancy, excessive play but dedication, determination and zeal to come out in flying colours.
In his words, The Secretary to Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Ogundokun commended him for choosing to become a pilot, stressing that the discipline requires natural courage, prayer, moderate play and seriousness to achieve the dream.
Ogundokun admonished him to jettison the worldly affairs now and give total concentration to current studies which require nothing but seriousness and determination.
In his appreciation, the student’s father, Mr Ogundokun appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde’s led administration for his readiness and eagerness to improve the state’s education and continuous assistance to indigent students studying outside the state and in the diaspora.
He stressed that he was happy and grateful to financial assistance that the state government in collaboration with the local government rendered for the pursuance and attainment of his son’s dream, praying that the duo would record and attain unique feats.
The colourful event which took place at Chairman’s office was attended by the chairman, secretary, career officers and the Supervisory Councillors: Hon. Kabiru Olaoye, Hon. Bisi O.K. Salam, Hon. Sulaiman Maitama, Hon.(Mrs) Ogundijo and Hon.(Mrs) Sikirat Adebayo among others.
