A group of youths under the aegis of Concerned Youths of Surulere Local Government has warned Honorable Olusegun Odebunmi Bunvic representing Ogooluwa Surulere Federal Constituency to caution his Senior Assistant whose utterance they considered as an attack of an uncircumcised dog.
In a press released signed by the Spokesperson of the group, Comr. Akanbi Segun titled “Don’t throw caution to the wind, our Chairmen are men of honour”, the group frowned at the press statement of Mr Ajibolu Maruf who is SA to Hon Bunvic, they considered the statement ridiculous and insulting, they advised Hon. Odebunmi Bunvic not to play politics with the well-being of the people of the Local Government.
According to the press release, the group said “Mr. Ajibolu Maruf doesn’t have any right to insult anybody in Surulere Local Government not to talk of our active Chairman as we hold everyone across our communities in high esteem, Maruf should go back to his Ikirun village in Osun State and attack everyone, but that will not be tolerated in Oyo State”.
He added that “the antecedent of Mr. Maruf is well known, he was Aide to former Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives from Osun State, Hon. Lasun Yusuf, inability of Lasun Yusuf to return back to the Green Chamber made Mr Maruf to manipulate his way to Hon. Bunvic, he is not one of us, he is only opportuned, therefore, he should tread with caution”. On the issues of relief Materials that generated arguments and counterclaims, the group said “All efforts to secure relief materials for our people in Surulere are welcome, but it is obvious that the efforts are complimentary, nobody should monopolize the claims, it is on record that the Caretaker Chairman of Surulere North LCDA, Hon. Mohammed Sharafdeen wrote letters to NEMA through the Deputy Governor to OYSEMA, and OYSEMA did a follow up to South-West Zonal Headquarters of NEMA where their requests were considered and materials were released”.
The group added that “It will be unkind to write off the efforts of Hon. Odebunmi Olusegun Bunvic as he also made efforts to reach NEMA National Headquarters in Abuja, they contacted the South West Zonal Headquarters and they said the matter was already on their table for consideration, that made it to be complementary effforts”.
To justify the claims of the involvement of the Caretaker Chairman, the group said “The letter sent by NEMA captured Surulere North LCDA, whereas, it is only Surulere Local Government that is known to Federal Government under which NEMA operates, but the letter that reached NEMA was from the Caretaker Chairman of Surulere North LCDA, Hon. Mohammed Sharafdeen who has been diligent and passionate about the pllight of his people”.
The group finally stressed that the Relief Materials should be equitably and judiciously distributed to all and sundry, all the protocols should be observed, all stakeholders should be involved, anyone that tries to politicize or monopolize the claims of the materials at the expense of our people would be vigorously resisted.
