The Lawmaker representing Ibadan South East State Constituency Two at Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olusegun Popoola Ademola Popson has empowered over 200 constituents while other categories went homes with envelopes that contained cash.
The disclosure of empowerment programme and presentation of financial envelopes were unveiled at the Empowerment Flgg Off Programme that took place on Saturday, 29th February,2020 at Oju-Odo, Oju School Eleta, Ibadan East Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The beneficiaries of empowerment were said to be engaging in seven(7) kinds of vocational courses that are itemised as Tailoring, Hairdressing, Computer Literacy, Nylon Cuttings, Barbing, Shoemaking and Eyes’ make up respectively.
The masters of the seven(7) vocational courses received all the apprentices who indicated interest and passion in each of the vocations and admonished to impart the needed knowledge and skills into the apprentices for the next 12 months.
In another development, the distribution and presentation of financial envelopes to the party leaders, stakeholders, youth leaders, women leaders and widows among others, were on behalf of Hon.
Popson anchored by the seasoned broadcaster, Alh. Oriyomi Hamzat.
In an exclusive interview with POPSON, shorty after the programme said that the empowerment of the beneficiaries on 7 varieties of vocational jobs and presentation of financial envelopes to the constituents were consequent upon the fulfilment of the promises made during the electioneering campaigns, adding that empowerment flag off was just one out of many that his constituents would benefit.
Popson enjoined the masters of the 7 vocational courses and the apprentices to ensure that the aims and objectives necessitating the programme are optimally and effectively achieved.
He said that those who engaged in all those vocational courses would have access to equipment and machines after the successful completion of the trainings.
Popson appreciated all those stood firmly to ensure and ascertain that the empowerment programme was successful, adding that its glory was not restricted to him but also to all and sundry.
The programme was attended by the Law Enforcement Agents(LEA), Members of Oyo State House of Assembly, PDP Loyalists, Party Members, Stakeholders, Women Leaders, Youth Leaders and well wishers among others.
