They Caretaker Chairman of Iseyin South, Local Council Development Area(LCDA), Iseyin Area of Oyo State, Hon. Fasasi Ajibola Raheem FM has distributed relief materials to the less privileged people in the council area and also paid for jamb forms of over 50 students whose meritorious performances and other exhibited qualities at the organised free jamb lesson, necessitated the generosity.
The relief materials that were ranged from sufficient cartons of indomie, beds, cloths, sewing machines, roofing sheets, nails and water pumps among others were unveiled and distributed on Wednesday, 26th February, 2020 at the Secretariat’s complex of the LCDA: Koso/Malete, Old Trans Motel, Iseyin.
In an address delivered by FM on the auspicious occasion of distribution of relief materials to the less privileged ones in the LCDA, FM said that he was delighted to welcome all to the important occasion that was specially designed to assist the needy in the council area.FM said, ” since the inception of this administration at the local level, God has assisted us to construct modern shelds for Okada riders at various locations across Iseyin Local Government and its environs, not only this alone, but also we have organized a free jamb lesson/coaching for our students who are yearning to proceed or further their education at the tertiary levels.
To God alone be the glory, the 8 weeks’ coaching exercise will end this week with positive comments from the participating students, teachers and the parents”.He added that, ” today’s programme too is part of what I know our people are waiting for, and we promise to improve in dolling out the dividends of democracy to you, as soon as the finance of the Local Council Development Area improves”.
In his words of advice, ” my advice to you all is to be patient, we cannot satisfy everybody at the same time, but with time and patient, we shall cover most if not all the good people of this Local Council Development Area, for those of us who had benefited in the JAMB lesson and the present distribution, most especially the party faithfuls, please be the dedicated and committed members.
I want to assure you that this administration is fully on ground and nobody, I repeat, nobody can truncate the wishes of the people of Oyo State. PDP is in control at State and Local levels and we shall prove to the doubting minds that we shall deliver on the promises made during the campaign of the last general elections” said FM.
In another development, the second phase of the programme held at Baptist High School, Koso, Iseyin on same day where financial envelopes that contained cash for jamb registration were presented to over 50 students who excelled and performed meritoriously in the free jamb lesson for the students who are intending to write Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In his words, FM said that the organized and sponsored jamb lesson was in line with replication of Governor Seyi Makinde’s fulfilment of free education at the state and local levels respectively.FM appreciated the students, teachers and parents for the cordial and mutual understanding and cooperation that yielded positive results.
He enjoined the students to make the positive use of the moral, academic and religious lessons they acquired at the lesson, adding that any student that scores above 200 in JAMB would be assisted to secure admission to higher institution of his/her choice.On a note of general appreciation, FM appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde and his Deputy, Engr Remi Olaniyan whom he described as God’s sent leaders to turn things around, he prayed Almighty in HIS infinite mercies to continue to guide, guard and put them right in all their undertakings.
FM said, ” I will not end this address without appreciating my political leaders and mentors who have given me the opportunity to exhibit my talents to the fullest. I am deeply honoured. May God Almighty continue to be with you and assist your children too in the time of needs.The programmes were attended by the LCDA’s Career Officers, Staff, the Political Leaders, Religious Leaders, party women wing, wards’ chairmen, youth leaders, security agents and host of others.
