The Lawmaker representing Ibadan South East, Constituency 2 at Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Popoola Ademola Olusegun Popson has doled out millions to vocational trainers, the members of People’s Democratic Party(PDP) and widows who are in the wards making the constituency.
The cash was given to about 150 trainers for exhibition of diligence and discipline for impacting vocational knowledge and skills into the youths who were placed in their care, likewise the sum of #300,000 to wards’ members and about 50 widows with envelops that contained cash.
The trainers whose vocational schools are ranged from tailoring, shoe making, computer school, make up and nylon cutting were given #10,000 each as compensation for training each trainee.
At the epoch making event that took place at Popson’s constituency office , Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State,
Popoola said the full empowerment for the trained youths would have come into place but the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and EndSARS’ crises and other logistics hindered its possibility at the scheduled time.
He added that the possibility of the equipment to get the trained youths engaged will be done between March and April, 2021.
Popson enjoined the trainers to continue training the trainees pending the time their equipment would be bought and graduation be attained.
Popoola thanked the trainers for their patience, diligence and discipline being impacted into the trainees, lavishing encomiums on the trainees for their focus, readiness, discipline and eagerness to ensure the programme becomes successful, stressing that their equipment to get started will be unfolded between March and April, 2021.
Hon. Abdullah Abdulrasaq Omosheu who represents Ibadan South East Constituency 1 at the same House of Assembly appreciated his legislative colleague for the empowerment programme which he said would end the poverty in the constituencies.
Omosheu also hailed those who stood firmly and progressively with a view to ensuring that the training turns to feasibility, stressing that the efforts of the party leaders, loyalists and members towards the success can’t be underrated.
Hon. Muhammed Muhideen Inakoju, the PDP Leader and former member of Oyo State House of Assembly thanked the lawmaker for the empowerment, saying the two lawmakers(Omosheu and Popson) are doing well to move the constituencies to greater heights.
Inakoju described Popson as a dynamic politician, somebody who knows the terrain of the constituency and who relates well with people regardless of political platforms.
He enjoined the beneficiaries of the empowerment to be loyal to PDP and massively support the party when their needs and attention are needed.
Alhaji Tiamiyu Abidikugu who is also a PDP leader, said that the people needed to continue praying for Governor Seyi Makinde as APC is doing everything possible to truncate the government from attaining the success.
He said people thought that Popson and Omosheu were getting huge amounts of money to enrich each other but not like that, calling on all party members across the two constituencies to continue praying for the two parliamentarians, Makinde and Oyo State at large.
It would be recalled that Popson enrolled about 300 youths for vocational skills around February, 2020 in Ibadan where trainees were allocated to their areas of choice and interest.
