The Oyo State Government has expressed its readiness to provide enabling environment and support for private businesses to grow In line with its policy of growing the economy and promoting entrepreneurship.
The Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin said this when members of Motor Dealers Association of Nigeria (MODAN), Oyo State Chapter led by their Chairman, Alh Sulaiman Musibau (Maito) visited him in his office.
The Speaker noted that the contributions of private business owners to the growth of any economy cannot be underestimated hence Oyo State Government will support and collaborate with the private sector for socio-economic development.
Hon Ogundoyin commended the Oyo State Chapter of MODAN for the visit and assured them that their demands and needs will be critically looked into so as to enhance their business activities.
Hon Ogundoyin said ” There is no doubt that the potential for growth and development of the nation’s automobile industry remains strong. We therefore need to encourage those in the business as a way of growing the sector .”
While giving the reason for the visit, The State Chairman of MODAN , Alh Sulaiman Musibau (Maito) said the Association came to appreciate the present Government for its various programs aimed moving the State forward and to also present some of their demands before the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly.
Alh Musibau stated that MODAN , Oyo State was in need of more sales outlets as the present one can no longer accommodate members who have grown tremendously.
The State Chairman who appealed to the Oyo State Government to patronize the Association whenever it wants to buy vehicles also requested for the provision of loans for members stressing that bank loans come with high interest.
Alh Sulaiman Musibau said the Association lack water supply at their New Garage Motor Pavilion and equally appealed to the State Government to tar the road inside the pavilion to make cars displayed for sales to be neater and more presentable.
Other Executive members used the opportunity of the visit to clear the air on the rumored crisis rocking MODAN in Oyo State with an assurance that there is no internal wrangling in the Association and that it is all out to promote the interest of all its members.
