The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has been appointed as the Director-General of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) Governorship and Presidential Campaign for Ibadan North East Local Government Area.
The strategic appointment was contained in an official statement made available to newsmen on Monday, 28th September 2026, and signed by the Coordinator of the APM Presidential Campaign and Director-General of the Oyo State APM Governorship Campaign Council, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran.
According to the statement, Hon. Akintayo will lead and coordinate all campaign activities for both the governorship and presidential candidates of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government, while continuing to discharge his duties as the Executive Chairman of the local government.
Dr. Adeniran described Hon. Akintayo as a tested grassroots mobilizer, a loyal party man and an astute administrator whose track record in governance and political organization will add immense value to the APM’s quest to win Oyo State convincingly in the 2027 general elections.
The appointment of Hon. Akintayo is part of the party’s deliberate strategy to strengthen its campaign structure across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State by putting trusted and capable hands in charge of its electioneering activities at the grassroots.
In the same release, Dr. Adeniran also announced the appointment of 33 local government Directors-General who will serve as Campaign Coordinators in their respective local government areas, and charged them to work assiduously to ensure a landslide victory for the APM.
He urged all the newly appointed Directors-General to immediately swing into action by mobilizing the people at the ward and polling unit levels, reconciling aggrieved members, and selling the party’s reset agenda and youth-centric manifesto to the electorate.
Dr. Adeniran expressed confidence that with the calibre of persons appointed, particularly Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo in Ibadan North East, the APM is fully prepared to win the 2027 governorship and presidential elections in Oyo State and across Nigeria.
He noted that the party’s candidates represent the best hope for sustainable development, inclusive governance and economic rejuvenation at both the state and federal levels.
