The Media Office of Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni has strongly disclaimed, debunked and condemned in its entirety, a false, malicious, mischievous and anti-party statement credited to a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo State, Barr. Mutalubi Adebayo Ojo SAN, who writes on Facebook under the pseudonym Ojutiwon Adebayo.
In the said Facebook post which has been circulating online, the former Attorney-General alleged without any iota of truth that Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni, Member Representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Chairman House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, “is not operating as a Team Player in Oyo South Senatorial District” and has “deliberately left out the Gubernatorial candidate of APC in Oyo State, Senator Sarafadeen Alli, from all his billboards across the Senatorial District.”
Describing the post as a monumental lie, a product of crass ignorance, gross hypocrisy and deliberate mischief aimed at causing disunity in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, the Hon. Oseni Media Team said Mutalubi Ojo SAN has once again exposed himself as a man known for lies, hypocrisy and divisive politics.
In a strongly-worded statement signed and released by the Hon. Remi Oseni Media Team on Friday, the media office said the allegation is false in its entirety, baseless, unfounded and should be disregarded by all well-meaning members of the APC and the general public.
For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni is a loyal party man to the core who has the progress, unity and electoral victory of the APC at heart from the federal to the state level. Despite being the APC Candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, he has consistently and at every event, campaign, political gathering, town hall meeting and market engagement, promoted the candidacy of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and the governorship candidate of our great party, Distinguished Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli,” the statement declared.
The Media Team challenged Mutalubi Adebayo Ojo SAN to stop his armchair Facebook politics and embark on a fact-finding tour of Oyo South Senatorial District to verify the truth.
“For fact-checking, Hon. Remi Oseni has, in all his over 20 massive, standard and beautifully designed billboards erected across the length and breadth of Oyo South Senatorial District, conspicuously attached the pictures of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli alongside his own. This singular act is unprecedented in Oyo South and it shows his unalloyed loyalty, team spirit and commitment to the victory of our great party at all levels,” the statement added.
“We hereby put it to Mutalubi Ojo SAN and his co-travellers that if he truly lives in Ibadan, he should go to Eleyele, Apete, University College Hospital (UCH) Junction, Kuola at Akala-Expressway and other strategic locations across Oyo South, you will see Hon. Remi Oseni’s billboards boldly displaying Senator Sharafadeen Alli’s picture alongside President Tinubu and Hon. Oseni. So where did Mutalubi get his false information from? His submission is nothing but a lie from the pit of hell and a calculated attempt to malign a performing lawmaker.”
The Hon. Oseni Media Team further took a swipe at the former Attorney-General, accusing him of hypocrisy and anti-party activities, noting that instead of working for the victory of the APC in the 2027 general elections from federal to state level, he has resorted to causing disunity, confusion and internal wrangling within the party through false Facebook posts.
“It is unfortunate that a man who claims to be a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a former Attorney-General of Oyo State will descend so low to be spreading falsehood on Facebook instead of looking for how the party will win the 2027 election from federal to state level. He is known for lies and hypocrisy. This is not expected of a former number one law officer of the state who should be a unifier. His action is anti-party and very disappointing,” the media team stated.
The media office therefore called on Mutalubi Ojo SAN to tell the public which party he truly belongs to, suggesting that his utterances and actions portray him as a mole perhaps working for the opposition to destabilize Oyo APC.
“Mutalubi Adebayo Ojo should tell us which party he belongs to, perhaps the opposition, and stop causing disunity in the APC. If he is truly a member of the APC, he should be seen working for the unity and success of the party and not constituting himself into a divisive element who attacks loyal party men on social media. Oyo APC does not need his type of destructive politics at this crucial time,” the statement said.
The Media Team reaffirmed that Hon. Oseni’s political doors remain wide open for everybody regardless of camp, group or tendency within the APC, stressing that he has continued to carry everyone along, promote all candidates of the APC with his personal resources, and work tirelessly for the victory of the party.
“Hon. Remi Oseni’s door is open for everybody. He does not discriminate. He is a team player, a bridge builder and a loyal party man to the core. No amount of blackmail, lies and campaign of calumny sponsored by disgruntled elements like Mutalubi Ojo will distract him from his focused mission of delivering Oyo South Senatorial District for the APC and ensuring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Sharafadeen Alli win overwhelmingly in 2027,” the statement concluded.
The Media Team urged members of the APC in Oyo State and the general public to disregard the false and misleading post by Mutalubi Ojo SAN and continue to rally support for Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni and all candidates of the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
