In what signals a deepening of political consultations ahead of the 2027 General Elections, Hon. Engr. Aderemi Abas Oseni, Member representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, on Wednesday, 29, 2026, paid a strategic courtesy visit to His Excellency, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja, former Deputy Governor of Oyo State.
The meeting, held at the residence of the elder statesman in Ibadan, was part of Hon. Remi Oseni’s ongoing engagements with critical stakeholders across Oyo State as the APC candidate for the Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 elections.
Speaking after the engagement, Hon. Remi Oseni said one enduring lesson he has come to appreciate in public service is that meaningful progress is built on sincere engagement, mutual respect, and purposeful leadership.
He described the discussion as frank, insightful, and issue-driven, noting that it centered on matters critical to national progress and to the development of Oyo State in general and the Oyo South Senatorial District in particular.
“Our discussion was frank, insightful, and focused on issues that truly matter, the future of our nation, the development of Oyo State, the progress of Oyo South Senatorial District, and the growth and success of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, APC,” Hon. Oseni said.
“We exchanged ideas on the importance of unity, visionary leadership, and the collective responsibility to always put the welfare of our people first.”
The FERMA Chairman expressed profound appreciation to Ambassador Arapaja for the warm reception accorded to him and his team, as well as for the confidence and goodwill extended during the meeting.
“I deeply appreciate His Excellency for the warm reception, the confidence and trust reposed in me, the goodwill extended to my team and me, and the enriching engagement,” he added.
Hon. Remi Oseni noted that interactions with experienced leaders like Ambassador Arapaja continue to reinforce his conviction that purposeful collaboration among leaders remains the surest path to delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
“Encounters like this reaffirm my belief that when leaders come together with sincerity of purpose and a shared commitment to service, the greatest beneficiaries are always the people,” he said.
Reiterating his commitment to an inclusive approach to representation, the APC Oyo South Senatorial candidate assured constituents that he will sustain wide consultations with leaders, stakeholders, traditional institutions, and the grassroots across the nine local government areas that make up Oyo South.
“As always, I will continue to listen, consult, and engage with leaders, stakeholders, and our people across Oyo South,” he affirmed.
He concluded with a call for unity of purpose among political actors, stressing that a collective vision remains key to securing a prosperous future for the district.
“Together, we will build stronger partnerships, deepen our shared vision, and create a future that every son and daughter of Oyo South will be proud to call their own,” Hon. Oseni declared.
The visit is seen as part of broader realignments and bridge-building efforts within the APC in Oyo State ahead of 2027, with stakeholders praising Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni’s consultative approach and commitment to issue-based politics.
