IBADAN – The political atmosphere in Oyo South Senatorial District witnessed a significant boost today as Hon. Dr. Engr. Aderemi Abas Oseni, Member representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, received members of the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN), Oyo State Chapter, at the Remi Oseni Foundation Office, Adeoyo, Agbadagbudu, Ibadan.
The strategic engagement, which was attended by APC leaders, party stakeholders, and notable figures in the entertainment industry, was led by the revered Fuji music icon, Alhaji Rashidi Ayinde Merenge.
In his address, Hon. Oseni highlighted the indispensable role of Fuji musicians and their teams in grassroots mobilization, stressing their deep connection with the people at the community level.
“Behind every successful musician is a formidable team of band members. I once served as a manager to a musician here in Ibadan, and that experience has given me a clear understanding of this terrain,” Hon. Oseni stated.
He further explained that the objective of the meeting was to enlist FUMAN as key ambassadors in the effort to promote the ideals of the APC and to consolidate the party’s support base ahead of 2027.
“The purpose of this gathering is to charge you with the responsibility of advancing our message. Although those seated here may be fewer than 300, if God empowers each of you, together with your band members, your fans, and your associates, the multiplier effect will translate into massive votes for the APC in 2027,” he said.
Hon. Aderemi Abass Oseni also urged the musicians to take the message of continuity and national progress back to their various constituencies, with a specific appeal for support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“When you return to your various bases and enlighten your people on the need to vote for Remi Oseni, and on the importance of supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term to enable the full consolidation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, you will discover that victory has already been secured,” he declared.
The federal lawmaker reiterated his commitment to the development of the creative industry in Oyo State and assured the musicians that their welfare and professional advancement would remain a priority under his representation. He described Fuji music as a potent instrument for cultural preservation, youth engagement, and political orientation.
Responding, Alhaji Rashidi Ayinde Merenge expressed appreciation to Hon. Aderemi Abass Oseni for his unwavering support for the entertainment sector. He described the lawmaker as a true friend of the Fuji music family and pledged FUMAN’s total support for his senatorial aspiration and for the APC in the 2027 elections.
“Fuji music represents the voice of the people. When we speak, the people listen. We stand with you, and we will carry this message to every corner of Oyo South Senatorial District,” Merenge affirmed.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve by members of FUMAN to mobilize their followers, band members, and associates in support of the APC and the re-election bid of President Tinubu.
