Political participation is best strengthened through sound political education, free from bias and emotion. The people of Ona Ara Local Government deserve serious consideration for the House of Representatives seat. This is not merely a political aspiration—it is a matter of fairness, inclusion, and justice.
Since the tenure of the late Hon. Jenrade, of blessed memory and Hon. Taiwo Michael Akintola TMA, no indigene of Ona Ara has represented the Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. This prolonged absence raises genuine concerns about political marginalization. To many of our people, it appears as though the votes and voices of Ona Ara no longer matter. If that were not the case, we would not have been denied this opportunity for so many years.
Now is the time to correct this historic imbalance.
An opportunity has presented itself in the person of Chief Oladimeji Ezekiel Temitope (OTOPE)—a humble, compassionate, and selfless leader whose life has been dedicated to serving humanity. His aspiration is not driven by personal ambition but by a sincere desire to right past wrongs and give Ona Ara the quality representation it deserves at the National Assembly.
As the Yoruba saying goes, “Bí ọmọ ẹni bá dára, ká wí”—when someone’s child does well, we should acknowledge and celebrate it. We commend Chief Oladimeji Ezekiel Temitope (OTOPE) not because of his personality, but because of his consistent record of empowering people, supporting the vulnerable, and contributing meaningfully to the development of our communities.
His humanitarian efforts have never been limited to Ona Ara alone. Across Ibadan, and particularly in Egbeda Local Government, countless individuals have benefited from his generosity and community development initiatives. This clearly demonstrates that his vision is one of inclusive representation that serves every community within the constituency.
The time has come for us to raise our collective voices against every form of political exclusion and ensure that Ona Ara is given the opportunity to represent the constituency once again at the Green Chamber—only the second time in our history.
Chief Oladimeji Ezekiel Temitope (OTOPE) stands out as the most qualified candidate for this responsibility. He is a true grassroots politician, a respected social icon, and a leader whose commitment to the people has been tested and proven. His experience, accessibility, and dedication make him the right choice to provide effective, inclusive, and people-centered representation.
The moment is now. Let us stand together. Let us speak with one voice. Let us support OTOPE and ensure that justice, equity, and quality representation prevail.
