IDO, Oyo State – June 10, 2026 — The Federal Lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA, and All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni, has reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and electoral accountability with the donation of four solar-powered boreholes, a 500KVA transformer, and solar-powered streetlights to Fatokun Itesiwaju Community, Iyana Tipa, Bako, in Ido Local Government.

The landmark intervention, presented during the community’s 5th anniversary celebration last Sunday, is designed to improve access to clean water, ensure reliable electricity supply, and enhance safety through functional street lighting. The gesture underscores Hon. Remi Oseni’s reputation as “Mr. Talk and Do” and consolidates his profile as a legislator who translates campaign promises into tangible projects that directly improve the living conditions of constituents.

Speaking through his Media Aide, Idowu Ayodele, the APC chieftain emphasized that the donation reflects a deliberate strategy to bridge infrastructural gaps at the grassroots and ensure that development reaches every household within the federal constituency.

“This is about improving lives. Clean water, electricity, and well-lit streets are essential for the community’s growth and safety. I want every household to feel the impact of these projects,” Hon. Oseni stated.

He further urged community leaders and stakeholders to ensure strategic placement of the facilities so that coverage and benefits would be evenly distributed across Fatokun Itesiwaju Community and adjoining areas.

The four boreholes are expected to guarantee access to clean and potable water for residents, reduce the burden of water scarcity, and promote public health. The installation of the 500KVA transformer will strengthen electricity supply, stabilize power for small businesses, and support economic activities within the community.

Complementing these, the solar-powered streetlights will illuminate major roads and communal areas, enhance night-time security, and create a safer environment for residents, traders, and students returning from schools and work.

Hon. Remi Oseni noted that the combination of water, power, and lighting projects aligns with his broader legislative philosophy of integrating basic amenities with security and economic empowerment.

The FERMA Committee Chairman also used the occasion to enumerate several completed and ongoing projects that validate his people-centered representation. According to him, his tenure has prioritized human capital development alongside physical infrastructure.

He highlighted a ₦1 million youth entrepreneurship empowerment scheme designed for 100 youths, with no fewer than 60 beneficiaries already trained and supported to start viable businesses. He also disclosed sustained empowerment programmes for traders and artisans, free WAEC and JAMB examination sponsorships for indigent students, construction of schools, health centres, bridges, and strategic road projects across Ido and Ibarapa East.

“Development is not just about infrastructure; it’s about empowering people. Giving our youths opportunities, supporting local traders, and improving community facilities are all part of a larger vision to uplift every household in the federal constituency,” he explained.

The lawmaker assured that many of these initiatives have been captured in the approved national budget and that ongoing road projects will be completed before the end of his tenure.

Hon. Remi Oseni commended the people of Fatokun Itesiwaju and the entire Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency for their overwhelming support during the last general elections, which produced his victory and that of APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, within the constituency.

He reiterated his readiness to extend the same template of responsive representation to Oyo South Senatorial District if elected in 2027, promising continuity in infrastructural delivery, youth empowerment, and social welfare programmes.

Community leaders who spoke at the event expressed appreciation for the lawmaker’s consistency and responsiveness. They described Hon. Remi Oseni as a “lawmaker who listens and acts, not just talks,” noting that his interventions have consistently matched his public commitments.

“We have seen promises made by many before, but Engr. Remi Oseni has shown real commitment. This is not the first time and this has earned him the title of Mr. Talk and Do. These projects will change lives,” one of the community leaders submitted.

The celebratory atmosphere at the 5th anniversary was heightened by residents’ appreciation for a representation model that prioritizes service delivery, accountability, and inclusive development.
