An intelligence-led operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, and the Oyo State government-backed “Iru Ekun” security outfit led by Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, resulted in the rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke and her 12-year-old twin sons four days after their abduction in Ibadan.

Sources close to the family told Naija Today News that Mrs. Adegoke, a staff member of the Central Bank of Nigeria, was intercepted with her twin sons on the morning of Wednesday, June 3, 2026, while leaving their residence. The assailants forced them into a vehicle and sped off before residents could intervene. The incident sparked concern across the CBN community and Ibadan metropolis.

According to security sources involved in the operation, weeks of ground intelligence and surveillance culminated in the rescue on Saturday, June 6, 2026, around the Loire Hotel area of Ibadan.
Chief Sunday Igboho, speaking with this reporter, confirmed that “Iru Ekun” operatives provided critical local intelligence and terrain knowledge that guided the joint operation. “The rescue was a coordinated effort with federal security agencies. Our team worked professionally, and the victims were recovered alive,” he said.
During the interception, an exchange occurred between operatives and the suspected abductors. At the end of the encounter, the victims were recovered unharmed and immediately taken for medical evaluation and debriefing, in line with standard procedure for abduction cases.

Two suspected kidnappers were apprehended at the scene. They are currently in custody as investigations continue to identify other members of the syndicate and establish the motive behind the abduction.
The rescue has brought relief to residents, professional bodies, and the CBN community. Community leaders have called for sustained collaboration between state-backed security outfits and federal agencies to strengthen response times and prevent future incidents.
Security analysts say the operation highlights the value of combining local intelligence with federal investigative capacity, especially along major Ibadan corridors where similar incidents have been reported.
