IBADAN, Oyo State – The political architecture of the PDP-APM coalition in Oyo State received a firm vote of confidence on Friday as Hon. Busari Olayemi, Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Intra-Party Affairs, issued a professional commendation to Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi on his emergence as the gubernatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement, APM, for the 2027 general elections.
The statement comes at a pivotal moment in Oyo State politics, following Governor Seyi Makinde’s declaration as the presidential candidate of the PDP-APM coalition ahead of the 2027 polls. According to Hon. Olayemi, the alignment between the People’s Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples’ Movement represents a deliberate, strategic, and people-centered response to the yearnings of Oyo residents for continuity, competence, and inclusive governance.
Congratulating Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, Hon. Olayemi described him as a tested political actor whose track record of service, accessibility, and policy engagement positions him as a credible standard-bearer for the APM in Oyo State.
“Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi is not a stranger to the politics and developmental challenges of Oyo State,” Hon. Busari Olayemi said.
“His emergence as the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement reflects the coalition’s commitment to fielding candidates who combine political experience with a clear understanding of the economic and social realities of our people. He represents the bridge between vision and implementation that Oyo State needs in 2027.”
Hon. Olayemi noted that Adekanmbi’s candidacy strengthens the coalition’s grassroots structure and enhances its capacity to mobilize across all zones of the state, from Ibadan to Oyo, Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun, and Ibarapa.
The Special Adviser emphasized that the PDP-APM coalition is built on shared values of accountability, performance, and people-first governance. He explained that the alliance is designed to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration while expanding the scope of development to cover every local government area.
“Governor Makinde has shown uncommon leadership at the state level, and his declaration as the presidential candidate of the PDP-APM coalition elevates Oyo State’s influence in national politics,” Hon. Olayemi stated.
“With Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi leading the gubernatorial charge under APM, the coalition is presenting a unified front that guarantees policy continuity, deeper federal-state collaboration, and accelerated delivery of dividends of democracy to our people.”
He added that the coalition’s agenda for 2027 prioritizes education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment, with measurable targets to ensure accountability to the electorate.
Hon. Olayemi called on party faithful, stakeholders, and residents of Oyo State to rally behind the PDP-APM coalition and focus on issue-based engagement ahead of the elections. He urged political actors to avoid divisive rhetoric and instead center their campaigns on solutions to unemployment, infrastructure deficits, and economic inclusion.
