As part of activities marking the holy month of Ramadan, the AKK Ramadan Lecture held on Tuesday, 17th March 2026, has called on Muslims to sustain the spiritual lessons of Ramadan beyond the fasting period and reflect them in their everyday conduct.

The lecture, which attracted a large gathering of faithfuls, scholars, and community leaders, was led by Sheikh Al Khaleepha Ismail Akeusola alongside other respected Islamic clerics.

Delivering the keynote message, Sheikh Akeusola emphasized that Ramadan is not merely a seasonal act of worship but a transformative period meant to shape character, discipline, and moral consciousness.
“Ramadan teaches us patience, self-control, sacrifice, and compassion. The true test of our fasting is how well we sustain these virtues after the month has ended,” he stated.

He urged Muslims to make honesty, kindness, and accountability a permanent part of their lives, stressing that the essence of Ramadan lies in its continuity.
Other speakers at the event echoed similar sentiments, calling on the faithful to uphold righteousness, promote unity, and contribute meaningfully to societal development.
In his remarks, Oyo State governorship aspirant, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), reaffirmed his commitment to values-driven leadership, noting that the principles of Ramadan, discipline, empathy, and responsibility, are essential ingredients for effective governance.
“The lessons of Ramadan go beyond personal spirituality; they speak directly to leadership, accountability, and our duty to build a just and prosperous society,” AKK said.
He further encouraged residents of Oyo State to embrace these values collectively, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved when citizens and leaders alike are guided by integrity and compassion.
The lecture forms part of AKK’s broader engagement with communities across the state, aimed at promoting not only political awareness but also moral and social reorientation.
Observers at the event described the lecture as timely and impactful, particularly in a period where citizens are increasingly demanding responsible leadership and practical solutions to societal challenges.
As Ramadan draws to a close, participants were reminded that the true success of the holy month lies not in its observance alone, but in the ability to carry its lessons forward into everyday life.
