IWD 225: Bibire Advocates For Accelerated Action On Gender Equity

As the world marks International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, a prominent PDP chieftain and Federal House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. Kazim Adeyinka Adeniyi Bibire, has applauded the resilience, strength, and invaluable contributions of women in Ibadan North, Oyo State, Nigeria, and globally.

In a statement commemorating the day, Hon. Bibire, a former Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, emphasized the need to accelerate action in empowering women across all sectors.

He highlighted their critical role in governance, business, education, and family life, noting that their sacrifices and leadership remain pivotal to societal development.

“Women are the pillars of our homes and communities.

Their ability to balance multiple responsibilities, particularly in this season of Ramadan and Lent, is remarkable.

They remain a source of inspiration through their unwavering commitment to family, career, and faith,” he said.

Hon. Bibire commended Governor Seyi Makinde for championing gender inclusivity through policies that have ensured women occupy key leadership positions in Oyo State.

He described the governor’s approach as a model for other leaders in advancing women’s participation in decision-making.

“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, it is essential to acknowledge Governor Makinde’s progressive policies that continue to empower women.

Their contributions to governance and development in Oyo State are undeniable,” he added.

The PDP stalwart further urged government agencies, private organizations, and civil society groups to invest in education, economic empowerment, and leadership training for women, stressing that gender equality is crucial for national progress.
