Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has successfully presented the staff and instruments of office to the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, despite alleged attempts at sabotage. The ceremony took place at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, with the governor making the presentation around 2:45 pm on Friday.
In a bold statement, Makinde declared, “They said they want to sabotage, they want to sabotage, we are here today at Mapo Hall.” He then proceeded to present the staff of office to Oba Olakulehin, saying, “I, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, by the virtue of the power conferred on me, hereby present the staff of office to the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.”
The governor’s statement was met with applause from the audience, which included traditional leaders, dignitaries, and members of the public. The ceremony was a grand affair, with traditional drummers and dancers adding to the festive atmosphere.
Despite the alleged attempts at sabotage, the event went off without a hitch, with the governor and the new Olubadan sharing a warm moment as the staff of office was presented.
