The Iyaloja General of Oyo state, Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje has condole with the families, traditional council, sons and daughters of Oriire local government, subjects and the state as a whole over the shocking news of the demise of three traditional rulers who were victims of a road mishap as a result of head on collision with a truck while travelling for a social function.
The traditional rulers; Olodogbo of odogbo, Onibowula of Bowula and Alayetoro of Ayetoro were together on their way to a social function on Friday when their car had an head on collision with a truck.
The traditional leaders, from Oriire State Constituency who according to eyewitnesses said that the affected monarchs lost their lives in a road accident involving Benz E230 with number plate OLODOGBO and a commercial Scania Truck with registration number 301 XF at Aje Iye in the local government area.
Investigation further revealed that two of the affected monarchs died on the spot, while the third person died a few hours later at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, where he was rushed.
Alhaja Saratu Aduke expressed shock over the painful death of the prominent kings whom she described as community developers and rulers with a heart for the peaceful coexistence of their people.
She noted the fact that these demised kings have played huge roles in the peaceful co-existence of the people of their communities and the iyalojas, traders and artisans in their various towns.
She prayed for the repose of their souls and the family to have fortitude to bear the loss of the deceased.
“I cannot hold my tears hearing the shocking death of these prominent Obas who have played huge roles in ensuring peaceful coexistence among our people in all the markets under their watch and the generality of traders and artisans , I am grieved to note that their impacts will forever be missed, may the almighty God repose the souls of the deceased and grant them eternal rest.
“I also pray that God will console their families ,communities and all concerned , while also granting them a strong heart to bear the irreparable loss”
