Sequel to complaint that orchestrated a letter of petition by the Apex Body of People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State, against Yèyétógé Group of the party over an allegation of anti-party, financial recklessness and other defamatory statements, the former has debunked an allegation and however maintained that it has no hands over loss of Hon. Akeem Olawale Mustapha at election that took place on Saturday, 18th March, 2023.
Information gathered by naijatodaynew.com had it that a letter of petition sent to Governor Seyi Makinde and signed by Hon. Johnson Ojebiyi, Kajola PDP Chairman, Secretary and a party leader, Pa Adesina Okunade alleged members, leaders and even some political office holders like Alhaji Salimomu Borikansuwon, embattled chairman of Kajola Local Government, Reps-Elect, for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency, Hon. Najeemdeen Oyesina Oyedeji, the supervisory councillors, elected councillors in wards 4, 5, 7, 8 &11, Hon. Mustapha Raufu, Chief of Staff, Mr Adeniji Robert, Campaign Director General for Makinde’s reelection, Hon. Ayo Olowosoke, Chairman, Adult Education and Non-formal Education, Oyo State and Mr Ganiyu Alaba, Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman, Hon. John Ayodabo and APEE, Personal Assistant to Alhaji Borikansunwon of conniving with the opposing parties and candidates in order to make the goals and ideals of the party fruitless.
The letter of petition which recommended severe and decisive punishments against alleged party’s stakeholders called for appearance of some of them before the party’s disciplinary committee headed by State Chairman of the party, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, State Secretary, Hon. Wasiu Adeleke, Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Yussuff and others who had their seat at the party’s secretariat in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
In furtherance of investigation aimed at obtaining the veracity, it was learnt that Hon. Ayo Olowosoke, Hon. Mustapha Raufu, Mr. Robert Adeniji, Mr. Ganiyu Alaba and Mr John Ayodabo appeared before the disciplinary committee on Wednesday, 7th June, 2023 while other concerned individuals had been cleared of their respective accusations before the date.
This shows that, appearances of people before the committee revealed that Yeyetoge Group of PDP in Kajola Local Government had largest numbers with different allegations in connection with anti party, financial mismanagement and other defamatory tendencies.
With a view to knowing the positions of the alleged individuals on different allegations levelled against them, Hon. Ganiyu Alaba, a member of Yeyetoge Group from Ward 08 debunked allegation of mismanaging election money and anti-party that were levelled against him.
He said that he had appeared before the disciplinary committee and expatiated the factors that contributed to the loss of Hon. Akeem Mustapha Mugaty at Araromi Unit 10 of Ward 08 at the last Governorship and the State House of Assembly election.
He reiterated that Mugaty had 16votes and Hon. Musbau Azeez Action scored 100+ votes, as reason was consequent upon Mugaty’s earlier promise of failed borehole but which Senator Fatai Buhari dug for the beneficiaries at eleventh hour prior to election.
Alaba added that,he was not given the mentioned amount for the governorship and State House of Assembly election as alleged but only certain amount allocated to Unit 10 and which Hon. Eyinade had its distribution to appropriate quarters.
Mrs Modinat Akeusola, the women leader of Yeyetoge Group confirmed that she had knowledge of what transpired in Ibadan and also she was part of entourage who accompanied Hon. John Ayodabo to Ibadan to meet with the disciplinary committee.
Akeusola maintained that the petition written against their group was as a result of their insistence and firm decision not to identify with Alleluyyah’s led group in Kajola.
She said, that they were abandoned and not given any dividends of democracy for complete last four years, despite all efforts shown to ensure emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde and Hon. Akeem Mustapha at 2019 Governorship and State House Assembly election.
Mr Ayankunle Ganiyu known as ‘ Yeyetoge’ said that their grouse with them was their identification with Hon.Sammie against the outgoing lawmaker at the primary election that preceded 2019 general elections.
Yeyetoge mainained that they were all punished with deprivation of democratic dividends, sequel to their failure to pick tent with Alleluyyah’s group and identification with Hon. Sammie’s legislative ambition.
He however revealed that, allegation and prayer of the petitioners were to sack the alleged public office holders and outrightly ban Mr. Robert Adeniji from contesting elections in the subsequent time.
Yeyetoge added that, the petitioners alleged Hon. Adeniyi Farinto of working against the party and however recommended penalty against his membership in the party.
He maintained that, after the disciplinary committee had described the petition baseless and fact less, they however asked Pa Adesina Okunade to call for a meeting that would see to reallocation of Local and Ward Executives to both sides.
He thereafter mentioned Pa Adesina Okunade, Hon. Jagunmolu, Ward Chairmen, Mrs Sikirat Adebayo, Mr Bolanle Awolere, Alhaji Apase, Hon. Alaasa, Alhaji Biliaminu Akano, Onisola and others who accompanied the petitioners to Ibadan.
To confirm their submission on resolution, naijatodaynew.com spoke with Hon. Johnson Ojebiyi, Kajola PDP Chairman and he confirmed that the issue had been resolved and both local and wards’ executives should be harmonised between the two groups(Alleluyah and Yeyetoge).
Hon. Ayo Olowosoke, Mr Robert Adeniji and Mr. John Ayodabo declined to speak on the matter as all efforts to get their views and positions proved abortive.
