The Oyo state INEC collation returning officer, who is also the vice-chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun state Prof. Kehinde Babatunde has announced the results of the presidential election conducted on Saturday in the state.
Prof. Kehinde disclosed that the All Progressives Congress, APC polled 449,884 votes to defeat its closest rival, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP which garnered 182,977, while the labour party scored 99,110 votes in the Oyo state.
Prof. Kehinde appreciated stakeholders for the peaceful conduct of the election, which had Eighteen political parties contested for the presidential seat with a satisfactory remarks from party representatives which include the current SUBEB Chairman in Oyo state,Dr Nureni Adeniran, and an APC stalwart,Alhaji Olanite.
Meanwhile, the total number of valid votes stands at 809,485, rejected votes at 42,471 and total votes cast at 851,956.
Reacting, the Oyo APC Guber Candidate,Sen. Teslim Folarin applauded the voters for deeming it fit to massively vote for the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over others including Rabiu Kwankanso (NNPP), Peter Obi (LP), and Atiku Abubakar (PDP).
Folarin called on all voters in Oyo State to vote for APC in the state gubernatorial election on March 11th , 2023 so as to give total transformation in the state.
