The VICE-CHANCELLOR of Fountain University,Osogbo also a retired broadcast TV producer, Professor Amidu Olalekan Sanni has called on the federal government to address its systemic issues all round in the country so as to enable a proper growth and development in the country.
Prof, said this at a -50 minute engagement had with the newsmen across the country at the Senate building of the Institution in Osogbo as a post-courses accreditation in the Institution while informing, noting that the state of education in the country now calls for an urgent attention.
PROF added that his administration in the University over four years ago has succeeded having more courses approved for studies by the National University Commission (NUC) from two basic accredited Colleges , i.e Colleges of Management Sciences and Natural and Applied Sciences with twelve courses to four more now include Colleges of Basic Health and Medical sciences, Law, Industrial Development Centre(IDC) and Acade-moral Centre.
” We have got 91 acres expanse of land from Iragbiji family-‘ Ayanlowo’ which will enable the Institution to accommodate all the listed colleges , particularly siting Centre for social rehabilitation in the entire South-West, Nigeria.”
Thus, the land dispute in connection with the Institution and land donated family has been settled out of court having reached a compromise, while shortly the Institution’s community radio operation being licensed by the National Broadcasting Commission(NBC) for operation which with this the students of Mass Communication will perform practically with better competition among the Nigerian Students.
“I have met the chairman of NDLEA, UNO, Nigeria Board for Medical Research Institute headed which include PROF. Salako Babajide , ISESCO,NBC and other professionals.”

The VICE-CHANCELLOR however faulted the present Association Staff Union of University (ASUU) leadership which unconsciously triggers the collapse of education in the country while reconstruction is engineered afterward.
” When Lagos State University (LASU) was founded in 1984, I was appointed as its ASUU Chairman , but for more performance, I left for lecturing from broadcasting I opted for its deputy so as to underline academic and religious undertone.”

PROF. Stated that free education in the country will never up societal standard. He believed education must be paid for .
” The idea of free education is not feasible anywhere in the world, somebody has to foot the bills”
He advocated for a legal Institution of students’ loan be made which will enable and accommodate poor income-background individual have access to standard education while the loan is made payment for thereafter
” This is the most important thing, in Freetown, no free lunch”

encourage people at the helms of societal affairs to be afar from compromise which will return the country to its primitive glory, yet the terrible systems in the country must be worked against.
In general, PROF. urged the federal government to enable private universities access other funds for public researches since all dwell on same curricula and national objectives
“Fountain University has succeeded running on low income for administration running as generated from fees.”
“The mistake the federal government is making is that students from private universities go for Youth Service Corp without any disturbance, researches are made here , and the results are never limited for use to only private organisation”
“After all, we collaborate with our colleagues in the public universities . The federal government believes private universities are set up for gain: No! Funds from private universities are plowed back into the government coffers, while equipment use are solely procured by private individuals running private universities”
VICE-CHANCELLOR proudly stated that his University and students rock the world in the society, adding all efforts at upping the University standard is ongoing.
” Our students are a pride of Africa both in morals and studies”
“What matters is that, we should try as much as possible to build systems and never an individuals” , Vice-chancellor said.
