Learning Revitalised: Christianna Foundation Inaugurates State-Of-The-Art Library At Olubadan High School

In a bid to enhance the educational experience of students in Oyo State, Christianna Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has taken a significant step towards promoting academic excellence. The foundation, established by the late Mrs. Omonike Akinjide, has inaugurated a refurbished library at Olubadan High School, Adekile, in Ibadan North East Local Government Area. This initiative is part of the foundation’s broader mission to support education in Nigeria and foster a culture of learning among students.

In his remarks, the representative of the foundation in Nigeria, Mr John Okeleye, emphasized that the primary goal of the foundation is to assist students in acquiring a sound and quantitative education.

He said that the foundation has significantly contributed to education in Nigeria by donating books to several refurbished school libraries. He added that the foundation aims to enhance students’ reading habits, communication skills, and foster a culture of learning.

He, however, admonished the students to use the library effectively to brighten their future.

In her remarks, the Local Inspector on Education in Ibadan North East Local Government, Miss Mopelola Jimoh, expressed appreciation towards the gesture of the foundation, adding that they should assist in digitalising the library for an e-learning system to meet the standard around the world.

She advised the students to maximise the use of the library to enhance their reading ability to become future leaders because a reader is a leader

She, however, called on well-meaning Nigerians and stakeholders in education to increase their investment in the sector.

The principal of the school, Mrs Beatrice Badaro, lauded the gesture of the foundation, adding that it was a testament to the foundation’s commitment towards education and support for the students’ development.

The senior boy, Abdulameed Abdulqudus, on behalf of other students, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture to enable them to enhance academic excellence.
