Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor, Razak Olayiwola, popularly known as Ojopagogo, has opened up about his marriage and addressed ongoing misconceptions regarding his wife’s acting career.
In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, the actor set the record straight, firmly denying claims that he ever asked his wife to quit acting.

Ojopagogo emphasized that his wife had been an actress long before they got married, and her career has only continued to flourish since their union.
He noted that rather than placing limitations on her ambitions, he supports her progress and acknowledges her professional growth over time. According to him, her rising success is proof that there is no obstruction coming from his side.

The Nollywood star explained that mutual respect and open communication are central to the health of their marriage.
He stressed the importance of partnership and balance, highlighting that both husband and wife must be willing to listen to each other and find common ground, rather than impose authority. For Ojopagogo, the idea of being a controlling husband contradicts the values he holds in his relationship.
He said: “I didn’t stop my wife from acting. In fact, she’s still very active in the industry, and her career continues to grow. She’s not at the same stage she was last year—she keeps progressing day by day. So, it’s surprising that anyone would claim I stopped her from acting. This was her chosen profession even before we met, so why would marriage suddenly make me want her to abandon it? She isn’t a controlling wife, and I’m not the kind of authoritative husband who imposes rules to restrict his wife.”
