Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has announced two new appointments aimed at strengthening the state’s governance structure. The governor appointed Dr. Aderemi Ayodele as a member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, while also naming CP Ayodele Sonubi (Rtd) as Executive Adviser (Rule of Law Enforcement).
Dr. Ayodele’s appointment takes immediate effect, leveraging his wealth of experience as the former chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission and Chairman of Ibadan North-West Local Government. His expertise is expected to significantly contribute to the state’s advisory council.
On the other hand, CP Ayodele Sonubi (Rtd), the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, will assume his new role as Executive Adviser (Rule of Law Enforcement) on April 1, 2025. His extensive experience in law enforcement will undoubtedly enhance the state’s efforts in maintaining law and order.
The appointments were formally announced in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi. Governor Makinde has charged the new appointees to discharge their duties with commitment, dedication, and loyalty to the state.
According to Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser (Media) to the Oyo State Governor, these appointments reflect Governor Makinde’s commitment to assembling a team of experienced and dedicated individuals to drive the state’s development agenda.
The appointments have been widely welcomed, with many stakeholders expressing optimism about the positive impact Dr. Ayodele and CP Sonubi (Rtd) will have on the state’s governance and development.
