Ibadan, Oyo State – The Member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Engr. Aderemi Abas Oseni, has emphasized the need for improved federal roads in Oyo State.
Speaking at the Oyo Federal Roads Stakeholders Engagement Programme held at Felicia Hall, Jogor Center, Ibadan, on Thursday, 20th February, 2025, Hon. Oseni commended the federal government’s commitment to road development in the state.
The event, organised by the House Committee on Works under the leadership of Hon. Akin Alabi, brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, engineers, transporters, business owners, and road users, to discuss the state of federal roads in Oyo State and proffer sustainable solutions.
Hon. Oseni, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), appreciated the foresight of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass, for appointing two representatives from Oyo State to the House Committee on Works.
He described the move as a strategic step to advance road infrastructure development in the state, noting that the collaboration among stakeholders would ensure that federal roads in Oyo State are safe, durable, and efficient for all users.
Hon. Oseni also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary reforms, which have driven positive change in various sectors, including road infrastructure.
He expressed gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Works, His Excellency David Umahi, for his renewed commitment to ensuring Nigerian roads are more accessible and motorable.
The Oyo Federal Roads Stakeholders Engagement Programme provided a platform for stakeholders to share their experiences, challenges, and suggestions on how to improve federal roads in Oyo State.
The event was attended by various stakeholders, including government officials, engineers, transporters, business owners, and road users, who all shared a common goal of ensuring that federal roads in Oyo State are safe, durable, and efficient for all users.
With the federal government’s renewed commitment to road development, Oyo State is poised to benefit from better, more sustainable road networks. As Hon. Oseni noted, the state is on the path to progress, and the collaboration among stakeholders will ensure that federal roads in Oyo State are improved for the benefit of all.
