In a bold move to unify the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, federal lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa East, Hon. Engr Aderemi Abas Oseni has initiated efforts to bring party members together ahead of the 2027 elections. During his visit to the Oke-Ado party secretariat on Monday, Oseni expressed gratitude to party leaders and faithful for their support and nomination during and after the 2023 election process.
Oseni’s visit aimed to achieve several objectives, including offering condolences to the party over the passing of Chairman Barr. Isaac Omodewu and congratulating Acting Chairman Alhaji Olaide Abass on assuming office. He also provided an account of his activities, highlighting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and its potential to bring relief to Nigerians.
The lawmaker acknowledged the party’s challenges since former Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s passing, which led to the loss of the governorship seat. He attributed this setback to the absence of a recognized leader who could effectively manage the party’s affairs.
“To reclaim power in 2027, we must unite and work together,” Oseni emphasized. “I urge all party members and stakeholders to come together, foster unity, and develop a blueprint for victory.” He encouraged leaders to converge across geopolitical zones to achieve a common goal.
Demonstrating his commitment, Oseni donated N10 million for operational allowances to support the smooth running of the state party secretariat. This gesture aims to bolster the party’s infrastructure and facilitate effective coordination.
As Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Oseni reassured Nigerians that the federal government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is working to fix federal roads and reduce essential commodity costs. “Once road infrastructure is improved, the cost of food items and other essentials will normalize,” he assured.
Acting Chairman Alhaji Olaide Abass thanked Oseni for his visit and commended his continued support for the party. “We are proud of your achievements and dedication to your constituency’s development,” Alhaji Abass said.
Oseni’s efforts reflect the APC’s focus on unity and progress. As the party prepares for the 2027 elections, his leadership and commitment to unity are crucial for success.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, Oseni reiterated his dedication to the party’s growth and victory. “I will continue to support the party’s efforts to reclaim power in Oyo State,” he stated.
The APC’s Youth Wing, Africa’s largest political organization, has been working tirelessly to promote the party among young Nigerians. Oseni’s initiatives align with this goal, fostering a stronger, more united party.
As Oyo State prepares for the 2027 elections, Engr. Aderemi Oseni’s unifying efforts and commitment to the APC’s success will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping the state’s political landscape.
