Former Alliance for Democracy (AD) Whip in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chief Babatunde Oduyoye, has paid a glowing tribute to the late Chief Michael Koleoso, describing him as a forthright politician, patriot, and selfless leader who embodied the true spirit of progressive politics. In a heartfelt condolence message, Oduyoye praised Koleoso’s bold and open-minded approach to politics, saying he was always willing to support what was right, even in the face of adversity.
Oduyoye, who represented Ibadan Southwest/Ibadan Northwest Federal Constituency between 1999 and 2007, remembered Koleoso as a thoroughbred progressive who made immense contributions to the success of the AD during his tenure as National Chairman. He described Koleoso as the father of progressive politics and an exemplary leader, whose legacy will be remembered for years to come.
“Chief Koleoso was a shining example of what it means to be a true progressive,” Oduyoye said. “He was a leader who inspired loyalty and devotion in his followers, and his commitment to the cause of justice and equality was unwavering.”
Oduyoye expressed condolences to Koleoso’s family, the Emi Abata Dynasty of Saki, and the progressive family in Nigeria, praying for God’s comfort and repose for the soul of the departed leader. He also praised Koleoso’s role as a mentor and father figure to many young politicians, saying his guidance and wisdom would be deeply missed.
“Chief Koleoso may be gone, but his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the many politicians he mentored,” Oduyoye said. “He will always be remembered as a true giant of progressive politics, and his contributions to our great nation will never be forgotten.”
