The management of Naijatodaynews.com has demanded justice as last Friday’s gun-threatening immigration officer, Yusuf Kehinde Muritala, fired at its publication.
The publication of a Galaxy TV and Oyo State Governor’s reporter, Seun Segun Falomo who was threatened with a gunshot at the Zone F of the Immigration Office on Old Ife Road in Ibadan while on duty, as one of the officers of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYTRMA, was baselessly detained, stripped naked and hungered by the officers of the Immigration in Ibadan.
The journalist, who with his colleagues from the office of the Oyo state governor, and from other mediums, including MitV, Arise TV, 32FM, and others were assaulted, while the Galaxy TV reporter was pointed a gun, triggered against, and eventually was rescued from a near gunshot.
The management noted that the news of journalist, Seun Segun Falomo was widely reported on all news mediums, including print, non-print, and news media, throughout the weekend.
The management became amazed as the immigration officer went to the comment section of his news, raining curses, and all sorts of informal languages.
Below is the comment from the officer.
“If what you said is true. May Almighty God bless you and your generation but if what you said is a lie May thunder fire you and your generation, I was the one that one of you was threatening with stone, you called yourself a journalist and you’re behaving like a thug, when you carry stone and we are with riffle what should we do? We should be looking at you. And when did we naked the OYTRMA? May Almighty God judge you with these rumors you are feeding people.”
Recall, that this Medium had on Friday 5, 2024 reported how an immigration officer threatened to shoot Galaxy’s TV Reporter attached to Oyo State Governor’s Correspondent.
Recall, that the immigration officer, had earlier been arrested by the officers of OYTMA for flouting the traffic rules, while on the way to the OYTRMA office headquarters, there was a sudden negotiation to the Ibadan North Immigration office before the OYTRMA Officers were transferred to its Zone F office, adjoining the BCOS defunct office.
Meanwhile, the management of Naijatodaynews.com, called the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, security aides to the governor, including Executive Assistant on Security, Sunday Odukoya, and Special Adviser on Security, Fatai Owoseni, and leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Branch, under the leadership of Comrade Demola Babalola to wade in a prompt address to incessant attack verbally and non-verbally of the journalists, especially as the forthcoming local government election across the thirty-three areas of Oyo State remains 19 days, which when not addressed may jeopardize wider coverage of the election and undue security clash in the state, while the assaulted journalists must be paid some funds as ransom, demand relief of the immigration officer in question from active service, otherwise, may submit a writ of mandamus, for due justice.
