The Regional Manager of SQI College of ICT, Ms Wumi Peters has called for fuller introduction of artificial intelligence into the Nigerian Educational Curriculum for better economies.
The Tech Expert made the submission while featuring on “The Entrepreneur in Nigeria Polity ” on Prince 89.7FM on Wednesday in Ibadan anchors by a popular presenter and reporter, Olawale Ogunbusola.
Speaking on the subject “Will AI not increase unemployment in Africa? “, Ms Wumi Peter noted that several countries around the world that expand economically, have for long adopted artificial intelligence.
The Regional Manager of SQI College of ICT said artificial intelligence when well adopted will enable quicker responses, accountability, speed, error free and broadness of the government ministries and private organizational deliveries.
Ms Wumi Peters who said artificial intelligence, AI, has been active in the world, maintained that the fear of losing jobs by Nigerians should be discarded.
She said it is high time every Nigeria gets equipped with digital knowledge, skills and innovation as to be relevant in the 21st Century, otherwise there may be job loss.
” The Orosanye report recently adopted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will rather help to merge parastatas for a proper management as never to increase unemployment. Meanwhile, failure to adopt digitalization and its innovations may have negative effects on any individual”, she said.
Meanwhile, the Techist called on government at all levels in Nigeria, especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde to introduce sincere tech studies into its education curriculum, from its elementary schools for a ‘catch them young theory’, with all adequate devices for both competence and performance, adding this will help the country maintain socio-economic advancement.
