Oyo Rep Member, Remi Oseni Launches N120m Earthmoving Equipment For Grassroots Development

Engr. Aderemi Oseni, the House of Representatives member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in Oyo State, unveiled a significant grassroots development initiative on Monday. With the inauguration of N120 million worth of earth-moving equipment, Oseni aims to bolster infrastructure and ensure food security within the federal constituency.

The dire condition of road networks in the constituency prompted Oseni’s decision to procure the equipment, which includes a grader and payloader. These assets are set to facilitate smoother transportation of people, goods, and services across the region.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at Ologuneru, Ibadan, Oseni outlined the scope of the project. Phase one entails the rehabilitation of 80 roads, with plans for subsequent phases already in motion. Additionally, selected roads in Ido and Ibarapa East local governments are earmarked for asphalt tarring.
Oseni emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency, stating that hiring equipment for road rehabilitation is neither fashionable nor economical. In addition to ongoing health and education projects, the lawmaker revealed plans to dig 50 boreholes in polling units to improve water supply. Three boreholes have already been completed, alongside several others commissioned prior to the elections.
As part of efforts to alleviate current hardships, Oseni distributed bags of rice to various communities. He also commended President Bola Tinubu for releasing N100 million to lawmakers via the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to address societal challenges.
Furthermore, Oseni urged Nigerians to actively engage in monitoring federal road projects by reporting any contractor misconduct to relevant authorities. He stressed the need for accountability and citizen involvement in ensuring quality infrastructure development.
In his remarks, Alhaji Abdul-Hakeem Okedina, Senior Legislative Aide to Oseni, called on the community to support the lawmaker’s efforts in enhancing infrastructural facilities, promising equitable distribution of democracy dividends regardless of political, religious, or ethnic affiliations.
