Oyo state government has promised to commence inner road inspection from next week.
Governor Makinde said this while commissioning an 8.2kilometer Gate-Alakia/Adegbayi Dualized Road and Onipepeye Underpass ceremony held at Gate Junction in Ibadan.
Makinde noted that his administration has greatly achieved in linking the geopolitical zones of the state, which will enable independent infrastructural development of each zone.
Governor Makinde added that the 6.9 billion naira 8.2kilometre road will further enable accessibility to economic hub of the state including the Alakia Airport and its environment, and maximize reduction of hold-ups on the road.
In his remarks, the governor of Osun State, who was the special guest of the commissioning, Senator Ademola Adeleke commended the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde for helping to put developing infrastructure in place , thereby bringing back good memories back to the south western part of Nigeria
Governor Adeleke called all south west leaders and governors to form synergies towards bettering regional infrastructure to include road, and primary health care.
Earlier, Oyo State Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Professor Dahud Sangodoyin said the Gate-Alakia-Adegbayi Dualized Road which was awarded on October 26th, 2022 through KOPEK Construction, will make 187.4 kilometre Roads completed under the Seyi Makinde led administration from year 2019.
Present at the event include former governor, Oyo, Omololu Olunloyo, Ondo,Olusegun Mimiko, Osun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Former Senate President and Chairman Board of Trustees, PDP, Senator Adophus Wabara, Serving and past lawmakers, chief Bode Amao, traditional leaders, including the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Moshood Balogun, Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Ghandi Laoye, among others.
