A senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr. Yunus Akintunde has said that the federal government is yet to deliver its rice palliative to the nation’s national assembly.
Dr. Akintunde said this while featuring on a socio-political program on Agidigbo FM on Saturday.
The senator said, that the president of the country, Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared its intention to give rice palliative to every lawmaker in the country to distribute at their respective constituency for relief.
Akintunde said the statement remains a policy statement as only on December 15the, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture communicated for procurement.
He added that till the end of last year 2023, the rice palliative was yet to be delivered.
” it is very sacrosanct for every lawmaker to support party members at their respective constituency, this some saw in distribution., he said.
Akintunde maintained that the senate is resolute, and optimistic about the good governance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while people should disregard the viral video of rice palliative delivery in Rivers State by a lawmaker, assured of general distribution as soon as the federal government credits the rice palliative.
” Everybody understands that the land is bleeding, yet no lawmaker will fail his responsibility in its due time and season.”, Akintunde concluded.
