Oyo State Governor, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde, on Monday, mourned the death of foremost Yoruba poet and musician, Olanrewaju Adepoju.
The governor described Adepoju as a unique personality ,and one of Oyo’s worthy ambassadors in the entertainment industry, stating that he flew the glorious flag of the Pacesetter State for decades.
Governor Makinde condoled with the immediate family of the late poet and the entire people of Ibadanland, praying to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
According to him,
“I express my deep condolences to the family of Pa Olanrewaju Adepoju,. He was known as a conscientious social crusader, who used poetry and music to correct social ills and many known socio-political hiccups that characterised his days.
“Baba Olanrewaju Adepoju was a great ambassador of the Pacesetter State, who flew the flag of the state as a social crusader and made huge impact on the society.
“My prayer is that God grants repose to his soul and protect the family he left behind.”
