The former speaker of Oyo state house of assembly and minority leader at the 9th assembly , Rt.Hon. Asimiyu Alarape had today Sunday, 5th of November, 2023 rejected the appointment as senior legislative aide to the speaker of the house of representatives,Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas (Ph.d) as contained in a letter personally signed by him and made available to Nijatodaynews.
Recall that the Speaker of the house of representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas (Ph.D) had in a letter dated 11th October, 2023 appointed Oyo state former speaker: Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape as senior legislative aide to the speaker.
His rejection of the appointment may be termed political as He stated that “He is been and still expecting a reward for his steadfastness and unalloyed support for his party,APC not only as a candidate during the 2023 general elections and particularly as a committed party member”
He also noted the fact that He’s appalled at the fast rate at which the letter of appointment circulated widely on the social media prior to when the letter was delivered to him.
He however thanked both the Speaker of the House of representatives,Rt.Hon. Tajudeen Abbas for considering him worthy of the appointment and Hon. Akeem Adeyemi (Skimeh) for the recommendation.
