The death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, fondly called Mohbad, couple of days ago has revealed that it is high time the law enforcement agents in Nigeria woke up to actions.
A socio-political analyst, Jimoh Saeed made the disclosure on Sunday as he recounted the death of the promising hiphop singer, Mohbad.
Mohbad, was said to be promoted in the music industry by the duo of Naira Marley and Sam Larry, but was recently alleged of having a hand in the untimely death of the musician.
The analyst noted that the law enforcement agents including the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA should have for long nabbed the actions of Naira Marley, added that non-cautionable actions of Naira Marley has lured many young Nigerians to indecent dressing and hard drug addicts.
Sa’eed said drugs and drug filming in the modern hiphop singers’ album need to be considered illegal by the nation’s leadership as this stands a way of reducing young talent waste away in the country.
Recall, Ilerioluwa Aloba, Mohbad was said to have been promoted under the record label of Naira Marley, but soon disengaged as he perceived some plans to exploit and endanger his life; with eventual life loss.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Mohbad, has reported several news of life threat at a Lagos Police station, with nothing done about it.
In a media chat with a lawmaker representing Ido State Constitiency,Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Razaq Mabaje on Friday, fingered the law enforcement agents for failing to maintain law and order against the drug addicts in the country.
” The Legislature in the country has been proactive enough in their chosen function, but the law enforcement agents, do not. They know young Nigerians that take hard drugs, but they soon release or fail to prosecute them as they are easily tipped “
Hon. Mabaje called parents to due responsibility while government should tighten plans against loss of young talents in the country.
” We have made laws, law enforcement agents are awaited to do the needful”, he said.
In the same vein, deputy Director, National Orientation Agency, Oyo State Chapter, Pastor Olaposi Adejobi believes undue loss of young talents could stop if the government makes talent hunt programme a priority.
Should we know say , the EFCC, NDLEA are afraid if Naira Marley? Then, the truth revolving around the death of Mohbad, be unshovelled, while the said Naira Marley, be charged against indecent and drug addiction promotion in the country, which would enable him serve a deterrent object for Nigerians he has influenced negatively.
