The Oyo State People’s Democratic Party, PDP has called on its council leaders to ensure a peaceful primary exercise in the state.
The call came on Thursday in a press release made available to newsmen as signed by the secretary of the party in the state, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke notes that is is pretty important peace and fear in choosing remain a priority in its local government council chairmanship primary exercise slated for Friday 21st June,2023 in the state.
The party credited leaders for always maintaining wisdom disposition, maturity and dexterity, called for balance in the July 21st primary election of chairmanship candidates ahead of the 2024 Local Government Election.
Meanwhile, the party implored every member of the party to maintain co-operation across the local government areas in the state for a successful exercise while newly elected delegates are called to function under the fear of God for progress and a prosperous nation.
“It is with great pleasure that the Leadership of the Party writes to thank our Party members for the very peaceful manner we conducted ourselves during the Ward Congress that was held yesterday.
The reports from the field was very impressive and we thank our Party Leaders for their wisdom, maturity and the dexterity used in ensuring that we had a peaceful political process.
This is to also remind our party members that according to our adjusted schedule of activities, tomorrow 21st of July is the date outlined to elect our Chairmanship Candidates for 2024 Local Government Election
We want to implore our party members to cooperate with the leadership of the Party at their respective local government in ensuring that tomorrow’s Primary election exercise is successful
We also Appeal to our newly elected Delegates to carry out their duties with the fear of God and in the interest of the Party and the nation”, the letter concluded.
