Barring last minute changes by the management of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) under it’s Executive Chairman, Dotun Oyelade, staff of the corporation are set for showdown with the management.
According to a reliable source, there has been disagreement between the management, leadership of two cooperative societies in the corporation as well as leaders of the two unions in the station over several issues affecting members of staff, deductions inclusive.
After failure by Oyelade led management to pay several months deductions owned the staff, the leadership of the two unions insisted that their May salaries be paid in full as against the usual deductions by the corporation finance department which they had refused to pay into the cooperative accounts.
Though the Executive Chairman, Dotun Oyelade recently pleaded for three months grace to settle part of the deductions but the unions insisted on payment of full May Salary.
It was also gathered that this will not be the first time Oyelade will be promising the unions on payment of their deductions, he has on several occasions failed to fulfil the promise.
Aside from the deductions, Oyelade since coming on board in 2019 has stopped allowance and incentives being enjoyed by members of BCOS staff with excuse of unavailability of funds.
Some representative of BCOS staff are also said to be wondering how fund is being allocated to projects within the corporation which are said to be on the high side.
As at the time of filing this report, plans are underway to petition various anti corruption agencies to look into some of the projects executed by Oyelade led management.
