Calamity Caused By Late Ajimobi To APC Can Never Be Forgotten — Adekunle Oduola. Says Folarin Became Drunken-General While Dashing Out Tickets

The APC Stalwart and Aspirant for Ibadan Southwest State Constituency, Oyo State, Adekunle Oduola has described late Governor Abiola Ajimobi as someone who orchestrated the initial calamity that befell the state’s APC.
Oduola who also described Senator Teslim Folarin as a Power Drunken -General disclosed this, in an epistle written on genesis of crisis bedeviling members of progressives in the state.
According to him, “Evil Triumph When good men do nothing”…Oyo State is just peculiar and this is the season the political jobbers, those without any other means of income blackmail others in their usual ways.
“Much has been said about The reasons for the failure of Oyo State APC at the March 18th 2023 Gubernatorial and House of Assembly election. It is pertinent to drum it into their ears again in order to avoid such reoccurrence in the future.
“In as much as anyone can join any political party, it must be emphasised that the general populace within and outside the party knows the core party members.
“Absolute power corrupt absolutely, Late Sen Abiola Ajimobi input cannot be forgotten in the calamity that befell Oyo APC.
Historically, core progressive like :
- Sen Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, a Member House of Representatives in 1992, Special Adviser on Economics to Late Gov. Alh.Lam Adesina in 1999.
- Dr. Isiaka Kolawole, Liaison Officer and Special Adviser to Alh.Lam Adesina in 1999
3.Dr. A. Moronkola Thomas, Commissioner in Alh.Lam Adesina government.
Just to mention a few, the 2nd and 3rd individuals served as high ranking advisers to Sen Abiola Ajimobi between 2012 – 2019.
They like others are great sons that Ibadan are proud of yet unknown Sen Teslim Folarin in the Progressive fold, a staunch PDP man was foisted on APC in 2019 general election to represent Oyo Central senatorial district by Late Sen Abiola Ajimobi and he won when the earlier above-mentioned could have been nominated.
2021 Congress
The PDP chieftains who found themselves in the National headquarters of APC collaborated with Sen. T. Folarin by ignoring the fact that politics is local. The National APC against all the following petitions by notable APC chieftains in Oyo State which includes but not limited to :
- Chief Niyi Akintola
- Sen. Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi
- Alh. Fatai Ibikunle
4.Prof Adeolu Akande and other notable leaders however put the party structure in Sen T. K. Folarin camp in the infamous “Jagba” style (grabbed by force) that Sen T. Folarin is noted with.
Blackmail from the loser’s camp in other to seek for sympathy in the incoming government of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu shall not stand.
2022 Party Primaries
This was the “Straw that broke the camel’s back”. Sen. Teslim Folarin jettisoned the party faithfuls who paid through their noses to seek party nominations at various levels and were prepared for the party primary elections.
Sen T. K. Folarin became a ‘drunken- General’ with the way the tickets were dashed out to :
- Highest bidders from his former PDP members.
2.Delegate list were hoarded in secrecy
3.Delegate list were changed at Sen T.Folarin’s will - Charade and Shambolic primary were conducted
- Primary were not conducted in many areas as unilateral hand picked candidates emerged by this “drunken-general” camouflaged as a democrat.
The conduct of fielding unpopular and non core progressive candidates made APC a failure in the said election .
The phrase “Political Sabotage” and “Staying aloof for known reasons” from the loser’s camp is nothing but a very cheap blackmail.
“The ultimate deciders are the general public and it must be emphasised that Sen. T .K. Folarin name is a bad market, a 3-term Senator with very little to show for it. The gangsterism and brutal thuggery noted with the PDP of old is also an indelible stain on him to the public”, Oduola said.
