The Elero of Ileroland, in Iwa Local Council Development Area(LCDA), Kajola Local Government,Area of Oyo State, HRM, Oba Oyedele Saka said, the traditional rulers could not endorse candidates seeking to occupy political offices but can only give royal blessings for fruition of their political pursuits.
This report is coming against a news story published by an online news medium name withheld, whose its handler reported what the Royal Majesty has not said.
The Monarch, while speaking with news men at his palace in Ilero said, the traditional rulers were not in the best position to endorse candidates seeking political offices but can only give royal blessings.
The Elero of Ileroland maintained that the traditional rulers are Fathers to all political candidates and entire politicians across political parties within and outside their domains.
He stressed that their doors are usually open to all politicians, political parties, political candidates, business tycoons, professional experts and others needed royal blessings on their activities and engagements.
He added that, it was the usual practice of the politicians and most especially political candidates to seek royal blessings before and during electioneering campaigns for fruition of their ambitions.
The monarch however asked journalists to fast check the veracity of information before they make it available for public consumption.
He added that, pen pushers need to refrain from news stories which are capable of generating tension and discord in the society, saying objective investigative journalism does it better for a prosperous journalist.
