Against the All Progressives’ Congress Party’s Presidential rally slated for Tuesday 7th February,2023 at the ancient Town hall,Mapo in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, has been suspended indefinitely.
The suspension came as a solidarity with Nigerians over the naira and fuel scarcity which have eventuated crisis in some states from last week.
According to an APC chieftain, an ex- senator and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu ally, Adesoji Akanbi, he stated that the country has been battling with social issues to include insecurity, corruption and others.
He added that the country’s general elections scheduled for 25th February and March 11th will snowball positive changes in the country, adding that the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) chairs by Prof. Mahmood Yakub is fully ready for a fair, credible , and peaceful elections.
Senator Adesoji called on Nigerians to shun violent protest in quest for a change in the country as doing so may become punishable under the country’s constitution, rather , insists Nigerians should massively use their permanent voter cards on the announced election dates.
Adesoji Akande, while speaking with naijatodaynews.com on Monday said the earlier scheduled Tuesday’s political rally at Mapo Hall in honour of 2023 APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu was suspended for security and a solid solidarity with the entire Nigerians and especially the citizens of Oyo state.
Senator Adesoji stressed that the candidacy of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, if elected as the country’s president on February 25th will restructure and revamp the country’s economy.
