For crying out loud, Who were the stained and slain youths in Igangan? Were they hired political urchins with the intention to forment trouble? Who was their sponsor and Quo bono?
These and other posers kept recurring after the last strife within Igangan sleepy community. In its usual style of shifting blame, the present administration in Oyo state in a response credited to its media Committee on reelection campaign had resorted to giving a dog a bad name by calling the peace loving Igangan youth unprintable names to inculpate them..
Lies the great philosopher Aristotles says, is ” base and reprehensible ” . How on earth can one major in spewing lies to cover up truth? First ,it was exoneration of the main actors who were PMS boys that are known as Notorious hirelings engaged by the Government to muffle the electorates. If you protect them now , will their track records not hound them ?
American writer Kai Bird once wrote on ” the colour of truth” , paradoxically, what we are witnessing here is the colour of lies.
It’s quite funny that Joseph Tegbe who was cadging for people’s votes in Ibarapa was painting the same voters with the tar of ” daylight murderers who according to him ” wanted to snuff out his life”. A limp logic !.
Let it be said loud and clear that Igangan youths are stonecold gentle guys and ladies, those hired to embarrass people in their domain were the real culprits and trouble makers.
Lesson learned is that when you’re going to a community, always be accompanied by someone who can speak their language as a ” son of the soil “
A local farmer who by his mien could not hurt a fly came out in a recorded video only to see his motorbikes on n flame. Who were the arsonists? Could it be the same Igangan boys burning properties and maiming one another ?
The media Committee of GSM ‘s re elections should swallow their prides , tender their apologies unreservedly and look elsewhere for the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
