The old students of Community Grammar School, Ilua in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State have on Thursday, January 5 converged at the Multipurpose Hall of the academic institution.
The meeting aimed at transforming the alma mater was presided by the acting President of Old Students Association, Pastor Olusegun Ogunniyi and had in attendance of members who were ranged from 1986 set till date.
Ogunniyi asked all members of association to maintain unity, love and togetherness regardless of political, religious affiliations and other dichotomies.
He stressed that, while all hands are found of deck, there is every tendency and possibility of attaining results towards the development of their alma mater(Community Grammar School, Ilua).
Ogunniyi however charged each member to pay his/her due that is designated for special projects in the academic institution.
In his paternal greeting, PTA Chairman and member of Association, Mr Rasheed Oyebisi welcomed every member to the meeting and however enjoined them to stay away from indifferences which are capable of making the mission impossible.
The School Vice Principal, Mr Ogunsola showered encomiums on them for coming together, with a view to making their alma mater progresses in all ramifications.
Praying that, God in His mercy would provide them the required knowledge, wisdom and strength to deliver effectively on the task.
The hitch free meeting that was coordinated in tandem with chronology of programmes slated in the agenda, featured Mrs Muinat Adekunle who said the opening prayer.
Comrade Rauf Muibi welcomed people to the meeting, Hon. Moses Ademola Italeke delivered brief lecture on ‘Remembrance of Falling Heroes’, and Comrade Fasasi Abolore coordinated introduction of members in attendance.
Not only but also reports of various committees were presented, while Comrade Babarinde spoke on behalf of Media Committee, Comrade Khalid Imran handled Constitution Committee, Comrade Hezekiah Ojeyinka did that of Inauguration Committee, Mrs Muinat Adekunle presented Financial Reports and acting Secretary of the association, Comrade Dayo Oniosun did justice on Central Executives’ reports.
The well attended meeting had contributions of all members in attendance on areas that would move the school from where it is now, to enviable heights.
The acting President asked members to wait for next date of general meeting, Hon. Moses Ademola said the suspension prayer and members had group photograph respectively.
