The PDP Candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Lanre Sarumi has promised to ensure adequate representation of the constituents at the green chamber of National Assembly, if elected at the poll slated for 2023.
Sarumi made the pledge while fielding questions from journalists at the media parley held at the instance of his legislative aspiration in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Sarumi stressed that it is no more a gainsaying and indisputable fact that Ibadan North Federal remains the largest in Oyo State with seat of University of Ibadan, the Polytechnic Ibadan, enlightened people and many others.
The PDP Candidate promised to prioritise people, health, education, Local Government’s autonomy and constituents’ betterment at large.
While justifying his position on adequate representation, Sarumi promised to ensure he gives effective representation to Ibadan North Federal Constituency while ascends the green chamber of National Assembly come 2023.
He challenged the current lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Akinremi Olaide Jagaban as someone who had not done the needful for the constituents of the federal constituency.
Sarumi reiterated his support towards enhancement of health centre at Sabo, Ibadan while he pledged that the necessary support would be made available to them once he becomes a member of the House of Representatives come 2023.
Acknowledging that he has been doing what he could to assist the health centre as he made mentioned of some Adhoch staff he recruited to assist the centre in order to attain effectiveness and efficiency.
Sarumi said he would be committed to full autonomy of the local government, while he would be liaising with other legislative colleagues with same minds on complete autonomy to the local governments.
He said he would not abandon more attained standard of education in Ibadan North, having known that the foundation of every state is education of its youth, promising to contribute significantly to this sector for better attainment of future.
He at large promised to give effective representation, sponsor bills/motions which are mostly needed by the constituents, people of Oyo State and Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Adding that, the oversight function which is also key among the constitutional roles of a lawmaker would not be left untouched while they are assigned by the leadership of the house.
