The Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde will on Thursday, November 3rd present 2023 budget and last presentation of his first term before the lawmakers.
naijatodaynew.com gathered that, Makinde will on Thursday at 2:00pm appear before members of Oyo State House of Assembly for presentation of 2023 budget.
The source who spoke on condition of anonymity disclosed that everything is set for presentation and defense of the budget by the Governor.
The anonymous source however added that, some of the lawmakers who are not within the state as at the time of filing this report have been told to make themselves available before the date.
Why asking about certain amount to be presented, the source maintained that he could not speak on amount being earmarked for next year’s budget but he is firmly believed that its presentation will take place tomorrow.
It would be recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde came on board in 2019 via coalition with other political parties to unseat All Progressives Congress(APC) led by Adebayo Adelabu Penkelemesi.
Shortly after the election and swearing in of the Governor, some gladiators that went into coalition with him fell out with him as a result of his alleged failure to fulfill all righteousness and agreement with them.
As it is now in Oyo PDP, one would see that all is not well within the conservative party as Governor Seyi Makinde is not in support of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for presidency.
This has however made Makinde to send his deputy, Barr Bayo Lawal to Ondo State for open declaration and support for presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
However, there are insinuations from different quarters that Makinde may not be reelected, because he stands on opposition of Atiku’s presidency, his inability to manage the party’s internal crises and annoyance of gladiators who assisted his emergence but pushed them to the wall.
Despite that, people are also of the opinion that, he can still be reelected because members of opposition parties are not united.
