History is about to be made in the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council as members of DEMBAB Volunteers, a group in the union will on Thursday 6th October, 2022 purchase and presents a nomination form of Chairmanship position to it’s Chairman, Ademola Babalola (DEMBAB).
In a statement on Wednesday evening, the Convener, DEMBAB Volunteers, Lekan Shobo Shobowale stated that few of the privileged members of the group decided to raise the form fee for the Chairman due to his excellent performance in the last three years.
“No doubt, this will be the very first time if not across all NUJ Councils in Nigeria that this type of gesture will be happening. Our resolve to purchase this form for our Chairman was to appreciate his good works in the Oyo NUJ.
The current Oyo NUJ is a very good example of what Good Governance is all about. Our Principal (DEMBAB) has brought governance in the union to the door step of all his members without prejudice or bias.”
The group highlighted various members-driven projects embarked upon by the current NUJ Exco in Oyo State, which are too numerous to mention.
“On this premise, we are calling on all members of our great union to join us as we formally purchase and present the Chairmanship nomination form to a worthy leader on Thursday, 6th October, 2022 by 2pm at Press Centre Iyaganku, Ibadan,‘’ Shobowale added.
