The premises of Ilaji Resort & Sports in Akanran was filled to capacity as The Chairman, OnaAra Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Hon. Musbau Adesina Sanusi(SABA) empowered 135 constituents and equally distributed textbooks to both public and private schools.
The empowerment which aims at ending poverty centred on vocational skills that range from nylon cutting, art design, tailoring, hair dressing and others.
While area of education was not left untouched as over 40 schools among both public and private ones were benefitted from textbooks bankrolled by the council boss.
In his submission, OnaAra Boss, SABA disclosed that the empowerment programme aimed at ensuring independence and survival of the beneficiaries, adding that the decision taken on engagement was in tandem with the promises made during the electioneering campaign.
SABA stressed that, he had once pledged to ensure he replicates Governor Seyi Makinde’s cardinal points of blueprint at the council level, noting that empowerment he organised for widows recently was part of the scheduled programmes.
In another vein, SABA maintained that sound and qualitative education promised by Makinde needs to be sustained at the council area, saying the decision of allocating free textbooks to about 40 schools was in consonance with attainment of the mission.
He appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for giving him the space to showcase his leadership qualities and however called on beneficiaries of empowerment materials and textbooks to make their judicious use.
Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, State PDP Chairman hailed SABA for making life better for the constituents of OnaAra council area and his painstaking efforts towards replication of Makinde’s programmes at the local government.
Ogungbenro noted that he has heard of SABA’s feats and delivery of good governance in OnaAra, reiterating that the allocation of empowerment materials to graduands and textbooks to schools had no doubt justified his true image about good governance.
Chief Bayo Oyero, former Chairman, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes(CCII) lauded SABA over enhanced quality of education and however tasked the students to makesure the books are used for purpose they are intended.
Mr Aransi Wasiu Adewale, Chairman, Saba Committee on empowerment hailed the council boss for yielding to pieces of advice given to him on empowerment on skills acquisition, maintaining that his true stance on success had eventually led to graduation of 135 graduands on nylon production, àdìre making, soap production, graphic art and design among others.
Adedotun T. Adeniyi who authored the textbook on English Language described SABA as an altruistic and not self centred man who cares for the residents of the local government and beyond. Calling on students to make good use of the book in order to complement their teachers’ efforts.
Mrs Adeleke Ronke, a trainer on nylon production appreciated the trainees under her tutelage for perseverance while undergoing procedures of engagement and however hailed the council chairman for empowering people despite the paucity of funds.
Ifeoluwa D. Ojo, a trainer on adire making said she actually tutored the trainees on what they should all know about the skills and she was grateful that despite limited time frame of three days and population of women, an engagement was hitch free and fruitful.
Mogaji Salaudeen Kamalideen, Artisans Chairman and Vice Chairman, Market Leaders in Oyo State appreciated SABA on empowerment and however appealed appeals to other public office holders to emulate him and also do things that would make life meaningful to people.
in their appreciation, Mrs Modinat Bello, a beneficiary from Ward 05 in OnaAra LG, thanked SABA for providing empowerment equipment on nylon cutting, also Yunus Fawas who was empowered on Graphics Art showed his appreciation over provision of instruments for his life survival.
