After deliberations on a wide range of issues regarding the progress and development of the union, the congress resolved as follows:
- That the congress commiserated with the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellecy, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on the demise of the Aseyin Of Iseyin land , Oba ( Dr.) Abdul , Ganiyu Salaudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi Ajinase 1. The late monarch was a unifier amongst all the Obas in the State and also supported the NUJ Oyo State Council till he breadth his last. The NUJ acknowledged his numerous contributions towards the development of our union and pray God grants him eternal rest.
- That the congress appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde on the latest reinstatement of 129 public primary school teachers that were earlier disengaged by the previous administration. This development is rare in other climes especially now that the resources of the State and the country at large, are dwindling on monthly basis. The Congress also lauded the Governor of Oyo State’s modest achievements in all sectors and more importantly regular payment of State workforce salaries, pensions and gratuities because some State governments are presently defaulting with attendant industrial disharmony, even in a neighbouring State.
- That the congress noted the incessant kidnappings across the country and however emphasized on the recent ones which happened at Ogbomoso axis of the state, also Lagos-Ibadan express way. The congress called on Nigeria Police and other paramilitary officers to do the needful on checkmating the issues of nefarious activities threatening the unity and peaceful coexistence of the citizens.
- That the congress appreciated the State Government on its renewed efforts at opening up new roads where none existed before, but at the same time frowned at the deplorable condition of roads in some parts of Ibadan and most especially the Molete/Oke-Ado, Ring Road, Anfani Junction, Adeoyo junction and Dugbe, among others. These roads are located in the commercial nerve centre of the State and the government should mobilise the State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSTROMA) to do the needful.
- That the congress paid maximum attention to dirty outlook of some areas in the State especially filthy condition of median on major roads in Ibadan and charged the Oyo State Government to redouble its efforts in order to prevent a possible epidemic outbreak and other contagious diseases that are associated with dirty environment.
- That the congress enjoined members to take extra caution and be safety conscious while covering programmes and activities of the politicians at the period of electioneering leading to the 2023 general elections.
