The former governor of Oyo State, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja has said nothing bad in electing Muslim as Nigerian President, while his running mate is also a Muslim.
He urged Nigerians to shunned religious differences while electing their leaders come 2023, saying what matter most was for the best candidate to emerged as the President of the nation.
Recall that Kano State governor, Umar Ganduje yesterday said the 2023 Presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to picked a Muslim as his running mate which has generated alot of controversies among Nigerians.
Speaking with journalists at his Bodija residence, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland maintained that no need for Nigerians to fight themselves because of religion, adding that both Muslims and Christians are one.
He noted that though Nigerians are cauntious of having a Muslim as the President and Vice President because of insecurity that has ravaged the country alledgedly caused by Bokoharam, ISWAP, and other terrorist organisations, but nothing wrong in Muslim-Muslim leaders.
“Nigerian politicians are just using religion to divide the citizens, religion should not be an issue among the people.”
Reacting to recent attack on the advance team convoy of President Buhari and Kuje Correctional Ceter, Abuja, Ladoja said said bandict are now operesing Nigerians which is threatening security of lives and prosperity of the people.
